2024 STARS Fundraiser Results Are In!
April 10, 2024

Southern Plains Co-op is proud to announce the success of its recent fundraising efforts for STARS Air Ambulance. From March 25th to April 5th, communities across all Southern Plains Co-op locations came together to support this vital emergency service, resulting in an impressive total of $12,978.00 raised.

The fundraising campaign, now in its third year, saw overwhelming support from members, staff, and customers alike. Through various initiatives such as cookie sales, helicopter cards, and a special Fuel Up Day on April 5th, where 5 cents per litre of fuel sold went to STARS, the community rallied behind this important cause.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts," said Brooke Spagrud, Marketing & Member Relations Manager at Southern Plains Co-op. "The generosity of our members, customers, and staff has once again shown the strength of our community and their commitment to supporting essential services like STARS Air Ambulance."

The numbers speak for themselves: 614 packages of cookies were sold, over 56,000 litres of fuel were pumped, and over $8,000 was raised through monetary donations and helicopter card sales alone.

"Our rural communities understand the critical importance of having access to emergency medical services," added Spagrud. "STARS Air Ambulance plays a vital role in ensuring that timely and lifesaving care reaches those in need, especially in our remote and rural areas."

Southern Plains Co-op extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this successful fundraising campaign, whether through purchases, monetary donations, or by spreading awareness of the cause. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of those who rely on the life-saving services provided by STARS Air Ambulance.
